Proud...not so proud!

Tonight after dinner, I told the kids they all needed to get in the shower/tub for baths...they have been pretty dirty. The boys take a bubble bath, the girls take a shower (one of the "perks" of being the older ones). I've decided to start working with Hammy on potty training. Maybe by the time the new one joins the family, I'll be done with diapers, except for theirs.

Well, I put Hammy on the toilet and had to hold him there so that he didn't fall right through. I just kept talking to him, "You need to try to go pee ok." He kept answering K but I'm not sure he understood just what I was saying. But, low and behold, a little tinkle came out. Man I praised that kid up and down, gave him a high five, clapped, the WHOLE nine yards!

But joyous moments can only last so long. I went in to get them washed up...and the tub is FILLED, with poop!!! Not only did he poop in the tub, but Bubba didn't tell us like he did the last time so they'd been sitting in it for who knows how long!!!! Disgusting.

Me and my week stomach could barely get the boys out and get them into my bathroom to be showered. I had Boo call in Dad so that he could help me clean out the tub...it was HORRIBLE!

My "proud of my son" moment, only last a little while, and then was shattered when I went to clean the boys up...awww to be a mom!! :)

I'm Prego!

Yes, it is true...we are expecting! My due date is February 1, 2012. I'm so excited. This will be my first baby but this will be #5 in our family. All the kids are excited, especially Boo! Here's the story:
I thought I was pregnant for awhile and finally on May 23rd I took a home-pregnancy test. It came up positive (light positive but still positive). I thought about trying to wait to show it to Mitch until the following day because he was taking me over-night to the Black Swan Inn where he got us the Romeo and Juliet room for a night. But, my excitement was killing me. And I found the perfect time to tell him.
Boo was at school, but the other kids had taken a few books into Dad in our bedroom for him to read. It was so cute watching them read, and I just thought to myself, "This is the perfect time to tell this happy Daddy that he gets to be a Daddy to one more!" So, I grabbed the pregnancy test and walked into the room. He saw I had something at my side so I just handed it to him. Well, he happened to be in the middle of singing the A, B, C's and so this was about how it went, "A B C D E F G, H I WHAT THE CRAP!" It was hilarious!
When we told the kids, Boo was very excited, Bubba wants a baby sister, Bug thought we were telling her that she was going to be the baby again and Hammy could have cared less! :) But, now all the kids bless me and the baby in their prayers (very cute!)
We did have a small scare. When I went in for my first OB appointment, they estimated that I was 6 1/2 weeks along. But when they did the ultra sound, what showed on the monitor didn't match up. It just looked like a gray bubble inside the black part (uterus). So, to prepare us for all posibilities, our doctor told us that either the dates were wrong, or we were looking at the beginnings of a miscarriage....Broke my heart. He had me get my blood drawn to check my hormone levels. He said that in a 48 hour period, my hormone levels should double. I went back 2 days later and had them drawn again. They hadn't doubled. We were told that the doctor was 95% sure I would miscarry.
I went back last Thursday. He wanted to see me again, do one more ultra sound to make sure it would be a miscarriage, and then talk about options for disposing. I can't say I was excited for this visit. We went and got the ultra sound...and low and behold, on the monitor it shows a little black sack growing (something that wasn't there the previous week). The doctor was...shocked to say the least. He had me get my blood drawn again and this time, they matched up with what we were seeing on the monitor.
I had another check-up today to make sure things are still progressing. We were actually able to hear the heartbeat today. That was soooooo awesome! One of the many steps I'm so excited to experience. Makes me sad that I've missed it with all my other kids, but I'm excited to get to experience it this time!
There's our story. I'm pregnant and I'm so excited that this little life will get to join our family! :)

First cookout of the season!!

Finally the sun is shining and we just couldn't stay indoors any longer. It was a bit windy, but we took a drive up Greys River anyway just to enjoy some family time and some good food! I really enjoyed that NO ONE could get a hold of us and we could just have an evening for the family! It was SOOO worth it, even with the wind. Boo & Hammy around the campfire, ready to start cooking some dinner.

Scab being...Scab! :)

Bug & Bubba (it really was cold)

I tried to get close-ups of all the kids...Bubba

Bug

Boo

Hammy

So this picture of Hammy is funny because he had taken about 1/4 of his smore and shoved it all in his mouth. At first he was barely able to close his mouth at all! It was funny. All the kids LOVED smores. I'm not sure Bug, Bubba or Hammy had ever had one before.

Sexy Man!

Me and my wonderful hubby!

Bubba gathering SNOW to put out the fire...yep, there was still snow right next to where we were eating.

Bug helping (I laugh every time I see this picture because of the face she's pulling)

Aww, the mighty hunter - "Squaw get-um firewood" (anyone know what that quote is from?) :)The kids in the back seat coming out of Little Greys. We thought it was cute because Bug just laid there on Bubba's shoulder! Hammy snuck in the picture as well saying "Cheese"

Couple scenery pictures, just because it was SOOOO beautiful! We live in one of the most beautiful places on earth!

Cool waterfalls we saw on the way in so on the way out we had to get pictures.

I'm only putting one picture on but this is the first of five beavers we saw. This one looked like he was the biggest. He was huge. We saw one on the side of the road too...they were cool. First beavers I've ever seen and that's what Bubba said too, "Dad, I've never seen a beaver before this! That's cool Dad!"

Sunset as we were coming out of Greys River...once again, I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world! Glad we had the sunshine to enjoy!
